Evolution Leisure offers a wide range of classes from MuayThai training to Zumba, Circuits to Yoga and Bums & Tums to Boxercise! We do our best to accommodate all of our members and provide the best classes that we can in order to help you achieve your goals.

We have designed a timetable to suit all abilities and individuals, this page will give you a short description of each class.   • Street Dance

    street danceStructured dance class designed for young people 4- 11 years of age.

    There are various forms and these include; break dance, Popping, Locking, Top Rocking, Foot work and Freezes. In this class we focus on developing technique, musicality, co-ordination and confidence in all street dance styles. We teach students how to interact with other dancers and encourage creativity which makes classes lots of fun.

    Our ladies Thai-boxing class is proving a very popular addition to our timetable. We’ve had lots of members and none members trying the class and Thai-boxing for the first time, the feedback we have received has been excellent. The variety of exercise it offers, the fact it’s ladies only and suits all levels and the friendly environment are just a few of the comments we’ve had.

    The Class is taken by Evie Penzer (one of our instructors and personal trainers) who’s been training Thai-Boxing for the last 9 years. The classes are planned to teach all the basic techniques of Thai-Boxing using a variety of combinations using pads and bags.

    A full body workout that will not only help get you fit and lose weight but is a great way to beat stress or build self confidence. It really is a class for anyone. Ideal Self defense class for ladies.

  • Boot Camp

    Boot Camp classes consist of a wide variety of interval based training using weights/objects and equipment. Classes are planned to lose body fat, improve cardiovascular fitness, increase strength and help people get into a regular routine.

    If you want to push yourself to the next level of fitness then this all over body workout is the one for you!

  • Pilates

    PILATES is a relaxed but effective way to getting results! In this Yoga based class you will learn various ways to keep flexible and in shape!

    A complete exercise method dedicated to improving physical and mental health. Pilates focuses on building your body’s core strength and improving you posture through a series of low repetition, low impact stretching, and conditioning exercises. You will increase your core strength (back, abdominal and pelvic floor), improve your flexibility and agility and at the same time tone your stomach and thigh muscles.

      Evie has always been interested in sports. Evie started training and Thai Boxing at a very young age and took part in a few interclubs herself with Reece and Pete as her teachers. Aside from Thai Boxing she also enjoy playing Netball, Cricket and Golf to a high level. Sports has always been Evie’s passion and that’s what lead her into the fitness industry. Evie is Level 2 Fitness Instructor, Level 3 Personal Trainer. Evie is also qualified in Circuits, TRX, Spin and Pilates.

      Evie’s specialist areas are Female Specific Fitness, Lean Physique & Toning Training, Weight Loss, Women’s Thai Boxing & Self Defence, Sports Specific Training.

    Boxercise is an exercise class based on the training concepts boxers use to keep. Classes involve hitting pads using a variety of combinations and circuits. Boxercise is great for men and women of all ages, there is no contact or hitting opponents, it is a fun, challenging and safe workout.

  • Cardio Blast

    High intensity interval training (HIIT) is a type of interval training in which you alternate short, very high intensity intervals with longer, slower intervals to recover.

    The idea is to work in the upper percentage of your target heart rate zone, around a 9 on this Perceived Exertion Scale, meaning you go all out, as hard as you can during the work intervals.  This takes you into your anaerobic zone, a place where there isn’t enough oxygen for your body.

    If you want to burn calories, build lean muscle then this is the one for you!

      All about Pete.

      Pete’s fitness background originates from his passion for Muay Thai. Thai boxing has given Pete some fantastic opportunities and Pete has fought some of the best fighters in the world, now with 25 years experience of training in various different countries and fitness environments Pete wanted to pass that knowledge on. After retiring from competing in 2008 and winning multiple Thai Boxing Titles across the world Pete began teaching thai boxing classes in the local area with the help of his brother Reece, also a very successful fighter. From those classes came the idea to set up his own gym and Evolution Leisure was born. Balancing working as a full time Police Officer and managing the gym has been challenging yet exciting. Pete looks forward to seeing what the future brings for us and our fantastic members at Evolution.

    Welcome to the Champions section of Evolution Leisure, although we focus on providing a broad range of exercise experiences to our clients, we are particularly specialised within the disciplines of Thai boxing. This is something unique to Evo as our trainers are amongst the most elite in the World.

    Pete Crooke is the former World Champion Muay Thai fighter and has competed against the best Thailand, Europe and the rest of the World has to offer in terms of competition.
    Reece Crooke is the current British and English Champion and teaches most of our classes here at Evolution.

    This means your trainers are professionals in the art of Muay Thai who understand the training, preparation and dedication needed to be the best in their field. This provides our clients with the very best coaching available together with bespoke training which will improve self-confidence, raise fitness levels and provide interesting and challenging training goals.

    At Evolution we recognise that Muay Thai is a martial art which can be used for self-defence but that’s not what were about. We teach the mantra of ‘common sense before self-defence’ and our instruction focusses on self-confidence and physical strength and agility. These skills can often be far more effective in dealing with situations than the use of force. For those who wish to test their skills we provide help and assistance in the form of taking part in competitions. This is great fun for participants and fans that can support the Evo team and meet fellow enthusiasts from across the country.

    Whatever your fitness or skill level if you are interested in learning Thai Boxing then we have a class for you. This class focuses more on the traditional techniques of Muaythai (ThaiBoxing) to help progress from our beginner’s classes. Learn specific defensive and attacking skills which can help set you on the path to maybe one day competing in the ring.

    A great introduction into health and fitness, our instructors guide and assist youngsters through a variety of exercises using our cardio and resistance machines. We also teach them about flexibility, diet and nutrition.

    Legs, Bums & Tums will tone and shape the targeted areas.

    Using resistance exercises involving weights, barbells and body weight we tackle the lower body in our Bums & Tums class.   • TRX

    TRX develops strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously.

  • Super Circuits

    Circuit training is a form of body conditioning or resistance training using high-intensity aerobics. It targets strength building and muscular endurance.
